I used to love LinkedIn. Now I can barely open it.
I found my first jobs, met my first investor, and many of my closest friends through this platform.
My life has genuinely changed because someone decided to share something here, and someone decided to respond.
For years, when someone’s name was above a post or message, I assumed it represented some version of what they actually thought.
That’s becoming harder to assume.
My feed is half AI posts. My inbox is mostly AI-generated connection requests. The comments have more em-dashes than real insight.
Don’t get me wrong, I use AI every day.
However, there is a distinct difference between using AI as a tool and outsourcing your voice to it.
If I want an answer from AI, I can open ChatGPT.
When I open LinkedIn, I want to know what you think.
AI-assisted writing can still be human writing. Research can be done with AI. Ideas can be shaped with AI.
But I don’t want an endless feed of generated content designed to capture my attention cheaply.
I've watched friends I genuinely enjoyed hearing from stop posting, stop reading, or just stop opening LinkedIn altogether.
I don’t think I’m the only one.
I want the people back.
